Meet our Interns!
Please welcome our new student teachers:
Ms. Farson:
Hello my name is Brittany Farson. I will be
an intern student in your child's classroom every Wednesday 8AM to 3:30PM
throughout the winter semester. This is my second semester at the ECEC and my
final year at the University of Michigan Dearborn. I will be graduating in the
spring with my bachelors in Child and Family Studies. During my last four years
of college, I have worked at Annie’s Children’s Center in Ann Arbor, where I
have worked with children between the age weeks and six years old. For the last
two years I have been the lead teacher in the infant room. Last semester at the
ECEC I worked with children between the age of one year old and two years old.
I am very excited to be working with your child at the ECEC and I am hoping to
bring my knowledge into the classroom and to learn from your children as well.
During my time
outside of work and school I like to stay busy. I enjoy spending time with my
family and friends, finding new locations to camp and kayak, swimming, playing
volleyball, skating, and sitting around a bonfire in the fall time. In
November, my husband and I found out that we will be expecting a child in July
2015. We are very excited to be sharing our news with the people in our lives.
Ms. Tyus:
Hello, my name is
Shante Tyus. I will be interning in your child’s classroom every Tuesday and
Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the winter semester. This is my third
semester at the ECEC and my last year at the University of Michigan Dearborn. I
will be graduating in December 2015 with my Bachelor’s in Early
Childhood/Elementary with a minor in Language Arts. I previously worked at a
Head Start center where I was a lead teacher in the full day classroom, as well
as, the half day classroom with children ages three to five years old. I am
very interested in learning about the classroom, your children and discovering ways
that I can enhance their learning.
During my time
outside of school I like to spend my time with my family and friends especially
my children. I have two girls ages five and two and one son age 9. I enjoy
bowling, writing poetry, taking vacations and learning new things.
Ms. Alhoussaini:
Hello, my name is
Rama Alhoussaini and I am also an intern teacher in your child’s classroom this
semester. This is my third semester at the UMD Early Childhood Education Center
and I am very excited to be working with this age group. I have previously been
in the toddler and early preschool classrooms here. I am also working in
another GSRP classroom at an early childhood center in Dearborn Heights, so I
am familiar with this program and this age group. I will be in the classroom
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 am until 4 pm, and will always be available for
any questions that you may have for me. This is my final semester at UMD, as I
will be graduating this April with bachelor’s degree in Children and Family
studies. I hope to continue working in this field and making a difference in
children’s lives, this is something that I am passionate about and would like
to continue doing for the rest of my life. During my free time, I enjoy baking,
photography and spending time with my family. I hope that I can work together
with you and your child to make sure that they are ready for kindergarten this
upcoming fall!
Ms. Ajami
Hello, my name is
Leila Ajami. This semester I will be interning in your child’s classroom every
Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. This is my third semester at the
Early Childhood Education Center and my last year at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn. I will be graduating in April with a bachelor’s degree in
Children and Families Studies. I previously volunteered at a pre-school in
Detroit as well as work as a substitute teacher for kindergarten and elementary
classrooms. My goals are to gain more knowledge as an educator to help meet the
needs of your child as well as learn their interests and incorporate them in
future lessons. One of the many reasons why I enjoy working with young children
is because I look forward to seeing what they are capable of learning and
doing. I am looking forward to learning as well as working with your child this
semester.
When I am not
studying or working, I spend my time cooking, working out, experiencing new
things, traveling, and hanging out with my family and friends, especially my
young cousins. I enjoy spending time with them because I get to experience and
learn many things I can apply in my classroom.
